The tournament was well run, but I have one negative. All the games were played on slowpitch / modified fields. I feel this takes away from the game tremendously as far as defense goes in the outfield. Routine flys fall in, and in the gap doubles = triples or ISP-HR. I played "open" for over 30 yrs and never recall playing meaningful games on slowpitch fields. If we must play on these fields, can we not at least have temp fences put up at fastpitch distances?
